There are many different garage make over projects available, from turning a portion of your garage into a craft area, work shop, and even renovation into a comfortable living area. There are ideas about having an extra indoor/outdoor space, to have your next party or get together. No matter what kinds of ideas you may have, the first step to starting these projects is getting the garage opened up so you have an idea of what space is available to use.
You need to get organized, and part of figuring out what kind of garage make over you want to do is your organization. For an example, if you want to change some space over to a workshop, then you should consider a combination of roll away, or folding work benches, wall mounted cabinets that lock up, and even organizer bins. This way you can store away all of your tools, materials, and small object neatly and securely.
If you are looking to change an area of your garage into a craft or hobby shop, then you should consider pegboard, or other hanging organization. This way you can put up small bins and baskets, have some hooks and grabbers to hold projects that you are working on, and have everything you need within easy reach.
A mixture of slotted or pegboard organizers, work benches with cabinet space underneath, and other wall organizers can be used for a variety of different garage make over ideas. In addition to those mentioned above, this space can be used for a miniature garden center, where you can not only store your hand tools, but also set up seeds, work on transplanting plants from one pot to another, and all sorts of other gardening needs, all from the safety and security of your garage. If you have some windows in your garage, all the better for getting seedlings off to a good start.
If you have a large enough overhead space, there are many other make over ideas available as well. This is one of the most unused spaces in your whole garage. There are ample storage ideas, from platforms for storage bins, to even hand elevators for storing heavy items that you don’t want to have to lift over your head. If you have enough space, you could even renovate it into another room, turning it into another bedroom, or project room, or whatever your heart desires.
One of the last ideas is turning your garage space into a recreation room. Once you get neat and organized, there are an abundance of things you can do in this area. If you get a screen for your garage door, you can effectively turn it into an area for eating, without having to worry about bugs, or changes in weather. In the evening you can hang out, waiting for the rest of the house to cool off without having to run the air conditioner. These are just some of the ideas for garage make overs.
You can find an abundance of resources online for this subject, too many to mention here. There are many websites that offer creative ideas, DIY projects and plans, as well as many different types and styles of organizers and garage screens.
